Solène— marquise.
A marquise center stone with pavé shoulders, scaled to the hand and set low for daily wear.
A small atelier of fine jewelers, devoted to the elongated cut and the quiet ceremony of the everyday heirloom.
Discover the CollectionsRhovell began with a single brief — to draw a marquise so narrow it could pass for a candle's flame. We design from the stone outward, never the other way around. Each ring is sketched in graphite, forged in platinum, and finished by a single hand. Nothing leaves the atelier we would not place on someone we love.
A focused edit of rings and diamond pieces designed for consultation, customization, and heirloom wear.

A clean emerald cut in a protective bezel, available in warm 18k yellow gold or platinum.
A low-profile diamond band with hand-matched stones and a softly rounded interior.
The marquise is the oldest of the fancy shapes and the most demanding. Cut too short, it loses its line. Cut too long, it loses its fire. We work exclusively in ratios from 2.05 to 2.25 — the proportions, in our view, that read as the unmistakable silhouette of the cut.
Every marquise we place is mapped by hand, the pavilion read in raking light before it ever meets a setting. The stone leads. The metal follows.
Every commission is documented, insured, and supported well after the ring leaves the bench.
Diamond options include GIA or IGI documentation, side-by-side comparison notes, and clear pricing before work begins.
Appointments are one-on-one, either in Brooklyn or by video, with sketches and stone guidance tailored to the wearer.
Each setting is finished, inspected, and photographed in-house before delivery, with sizing confirmed before final polish.
Complimentary annual cleaning and inspection keep prongs, pavé, and rhodium service on a thoughtful schedule.
From first sketch to final polish — between ten and fourteen weeks.
A private hour at the atelier, or over a long video call. We talk through references, lifestyle, hand shape, and the stone you are drawn to — never the ring you think you should choose.
Week 0Three graphite drawings, scaled to the finger. We refine until one of them stops you. Stone options are presented in person, under jeweler's loupe and natural light.
Week 2Lost-wax cast in our Greenpoint workshop, then hand-set with melée diamonds matched stone-by-stone. Six weeks at the bench; not a minute fewer.
Weeks 4–10Final reveal at the atelier, in a black walnut presentation box. A lifetime of complimentary cleanings, sizings, and rhodium services included. Forever.
Week 12A small room above a print shop on Franklin Street. Two benches, one window, a kettle. We see clients privately by appointment, never more than two pairs in a day.
If you cannot come to Brooklyn, we will come to you — Manhattan, the Hudson Valley, and select cities for serious commissions.
Share a date, budget range, preferred metal, and any heirloom stones you want considered. Rhovell will respond with next steps, appointment availability, and a transparent path from sourcing through final presentation.
Essays, sketches, and the occasional letter from the bench.
